On Monday morning, Lachnado just suddenly stood up unassisted. No steps yet, but he now just stands himself up, has a look around before dropping back down to ground level. It usually happens when he has his hands full and is distracted. We are just one small Eloise nudge away from his first steps.

Gymboree is closed this Thursday as it is the Jubilee weekend. Eloise was happy as she was able to sneak into Monday’s class with Juju, it was nice to catch up with them again.

On the theme of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Liam had to pull something together for his work’s Jubilee Great British Bake Off. Lucky he had a trick up his sleeve. Super Mum to the rescue. We figured we had to make another Aussie treat!

Tuesday morning, Eloise scored leftover strawberries and cream for morning tea, she was very pleased with herself. Poor Lachlan was frustrated that he was not allowed the cream.

Once Liam had arrived at work, it was time for a bit of razzle-dazzle. Union Jack decorating time!

It was an ‘everyone is a winner’ kind of day, not the cutthroat competition we had bargained for. The pav taking out joint first place.
After feeding her ducks, Eloise was in a climbing mood. Lachlan was watching her carefully.

Dad was home early to surprise Eloise with his first dance dad duty, after class pickup. The rain came bucketing down, so we sought refuge in the kids’ happy place, the library.

Wednesday was the 1st of June and the start of not winter.

We all had to run off the baked goods. Eloise was excited to show Dad her new climbing tree.

The ducks are starting to come back, providing a good show. Lachlan even had a go feeding them.

On Thursday night the “Socceroos beat Jordan 2-1 in Qatar ahead of World Cup playoff against United Arab Emirates” to keep their World Cup dreams alive.
After the delayed match in March, the highly anticipated Scotland vs Ukraine World Cup Qualifier was played too. “A heroic Ukraine roused a performance of spirit, endeavour and courage to stun Scotland and earn a historic World Cup play-off final against Wales… While images of fans watching on in war-torn Ukraine circulated, 3,500 fans bedecked in light blue and yellow – including 65 orphans invited by the Scottish FA – celebrated wildly in Glasgow on a night none will forget”. In a nice touch “Scotland fans joined in singing the Ukrainian anthem at Hampden Park in a show of support for their World Cup play-off opponents. Flyers containing a phonetic version of the national song were handed out before the match and members of the Tartan Army sang along in solidarity”.
This morning we were glad to see our gender-neutral all-inclusive squirrel, Sam return with a summer tan, Mx has been on vacation for the past couple of months.

Eloise was full of energy and showed us some of the dance moves she has been learning in class each week.
Super Mum and the kids did a final dash to the shops to prepare for a big weekend ahead. Lachlan and Eloise were lucky to finally score Pop Up Fidget toys, they are very popular here with the kids. Lachnado was a happy boy.

Harnessing his endless energy we deployed our Roomba to start cleaning before we tried to walk them to sleep. Eloise fell asleep fairly quickly, Lachnado always takes a bit more convincing. The boy loves the sky, and will not fall asleep if he can see any part of it. We had to set up the Batmobile cocoon, which eventually did the trick.

After the kids were well rested and Dad had clocked off for the day they were excited to help Dad start packing.

Down in England the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations had commenced as the English had a double Bank Holiday. There was a neat airshow over Buckingham Palace which would have been great to see. Spitfires, F35s, Typhoons, Red Arrows, the works. An incredible number of people turned out to celebrate, lucky BoJo has said COVID-19 is over.

[…] the Queen”. There were more celebrations planned all throughout the United Kingdom, although more common down England way. Although “the 96-year-old earlier pulled out of Friday’s Jubilee thanksgiving service […]
