After washing the Beccamobile to various levels of success, Lachlan was up bright and early on Saturday with the hose to make a start on his wheels.

Saturday mornings first thing each week is usually the “Dad’s walk” up Chambers Gully followed by coffees. Due to a total fire ban, it was straight to the coffees. It was already uncomfortably hot at 09:00, Eloise was delighted to try an iced chocolate.

We then swung past Burnside Village to check out South Australian Haigh’s Chocolate, Lachlan was bopping up and down for a taster and made quick work of his chocolates with a big grin.

Haigh’s Chocolates is an Australian family owned bean-to-bar chocolate making company based in Adelaide, South Australia. It was founded in 1915 by Alfred E. Haigh… Alfred E. Haigh was born in 1877 in Adelaide, South Australia. His first shop opened on 1 May 1915 at 34 King William Street and moved a few doors along to Beehive Corner in 1922 on Rundle Mall and King William Street… John Haigh (Alfred’s grandson) wanted to expand the chocolate making aspects of the business, and went to learn about chocolate manufacturing with Lindt & Sprüngli in Switzerland to bring new techniques back to Australia.
Eloise was pleased to return to the children’s fish tank and was enthusiastic to show Lachlan. She was even more excited about the mini toilet, she does love a good mini toilet.

Eloise had been completely sold on iced chocolates to get through the heat, we made sure to pick up some chocolate syrup so the kids could have another one at home. The kids had two different ways of drinking them.

Full of sugar, we dashed up to the Millards to blow off some steam. Lachlan was in full cheeky mode flipping tables, chasing dogs, climbing on couches and Annie. He was putting on the full show with all his tricks. After turning the house upright again Russ strapped him down.

It was a fantastic night as we celebrated Hughberts big 30! Happy birthday again Hugh. The kids were having the time of their lives darting between friends.

After some dinner and pacing up and down the street Lachlan retired to Hugh’s childhood room for the night, disappointingly there was a lack of Green Day and Blink 182 posters on the wall. Eloise was not quite done partying but clonked out a couple of hours later. They had both been great all night and are very comfortable around everyone now which is lovely to see.

Exciting news for plane spotters in Glasgow, “the world’s largest commercial passenger aircraft is set to make its return to Glasgow Airport after more than three years. Emirates is to reintroduce the Airbus A380 for its Glasgow-Dubai service from 26 March. The aircraft was last in service at Glasgow in September 2019”.

Sunday morning it was a short drive towards town to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. A well overdue catch up with friends and another new baby to meet.
It is always a beautiful place for a stroll, we should spend more time there.

After some yummy nibbles, Lachlan had plenty of energy to burn and after a few sprints started to tire everyone else out with football and catch, he has an impressive throw. Most likely from the massive guns he has developed from constantly flipping tables.

It was a nice day sitting in the shade, not rushing to get to the next major attraction, surrounded by trees and birds. Eloise was not a big fan of the bin chickens but did a stellar job keeping us safe.

The Adelaide Botanic Garden is a 51-hectare (130-acre) public garden at the north-east corner of the Adelaide city centre, in the Adelaide Park Lands… Work was begun on the site in 1855, with its official opening to the public on 4 October 1857. The Adelaide Botanic Garden and adjacent State Herbarium of South Australia, together with the Wittunga Botanic Garden and Mount Lofty Botanic Garden, comprise the Botanic Gardens of South Australia, administered by the Board of the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium, a state government statutory authority.
After ticking off a few more friends from the catch up list the show had to go on. It was another short drive, nothing in Adelaide is too far away.
The kids have certainly got to know or reconnected with a lot of people over the past few weeks. They do love a good coffee catch up, Eloise cheekily ordered the waffles again. T-swizzle was having a blast watching Lachlan down his tomato sauce while throwing out free parental guidance.

For dinner Sunday night Grandpa DAVE was sweating it out on the Green Egg again. The Three Musketeers were more than happy with their bakery treats after their dinner.

The beef was coming along brilliantly, Lachlan the boy who is never full had decided he was having another dinner meal, getting stuck in.

After polishing off the Glaswegian knight with the Millards last week, it was time to crack open the ‘The Olivia Blend’.
