After the success of the garden games at our 64 Years of Fensoms party on Saturday, the croquet and Spikeball were out early to get the day going.

Eloise was more interested in getting back on a pony.

We headed back to honorary Uncle Hugh and Aunty Jamila’s to meet their new fur baby. Perhaps the first time that either of the kids had met a kitten.

Frankie has lost touch with the common cat as we put together her climbing frame/ tower/ castle thing. Eloise was finding all of this very entertaining as Frankie jumped around the house, “look, look, cat on table, the cat is on the table again, hahahehehaha”.

After explaining to Hugh that his Big Bertha five wood was not a putter it was a short drive across town to our go-to Par 3. I was genuinely looking excited for this, I could not even remember the last time I played golf.
A few months ago James just happened to have found the perfect golf ball for me. Hopefully, all that walking around St Andrews Old Course somehow has improved my game.

We were pushed for time so did a quick Ambrose. Unfortunately, the World’s #1 physio and I went down to James, Hugh and Danny, the dark horse.

It was then our last Fensom/ Talbot family dinner for quite some time. We were spoilt for dessert, Sue had done it again! Another incredible pav! Thank you Sue, We will get Grandpa DAVE to return the esky.

Liam does not get quite as much pav these days as he used to. There is a little someone who is also addicted.

This morning started with dog hugs. These two are certainly more confident around their four-legged friends now.

We headed down to Great Nanny’s for our final farewell, Super Dad is flying out tomorrow morning.

We then strapped the kids in nice and tight for a windy drive down south. When we are on family holidays and moving between hotels, Eloise is always excited to claim that it is a “new home day”. Today was definitely, “new home day”, but not for us. We were on our way to see Becca’s new home for the first time. We had to stop at a bakery on the way to pick up an Aussie meat pie, much better than a Gregg’s Steak Bakes.

In the afternoon we kept pushing on south, off the beaten path. We had a new house Earth Ship to check out too.

When we arrived Eloise and Lachlan were super excited to be reunited with their second cousin. They hit it off as if they were still at the party.

Eloise was jumping up and down at the sight of the trampoline, it was much bigger than hers. She could not wait to get some sweet air. Lachie’s fast feet were firing on all cylinders trying to keep up with the big girls.

We didn’t think the kids were ever going to leave as they made themselves at home in their second cousin’s little home.

There were even miniature goats tearing about the place. They were very cheeky and kept the kids entertained.

An Earthship is a style of architecture developed in the late 20th century to early 21st century by architect Michael Reynolds. Earthships are designed to behave as passive solar earth shelters made of both natural and upcycled materials such as earth-packed tires. Earthships may feature a variety of amenities and aesthetics, and are designed to withstand the extreme temperatures of a desert, managing to stay close to 70 °F (21 °C) regardless of outside weather conditions. Earthship communities were originally built in the desert of northern New Mexico, near the Rio Grande, and the style has spread to small pockets of communities around the globe, in some cases in spite of legal opposition to its construction and adoption.
The Fensoms do love a good kite and this was the perfect spot for one. A much better kite than the one Super Mum picked up for Eloise in the Lake District.

Lachlan was not as interested in the kite and had his eyes on something else. The Defender!

It got a bit chaotic when the miniature goat also decided to climb on in.

Eloise helped feed the miniature goats before we hit the road for the long journey home.

When we arrived home it was time for Liam to start packing after his whirlwind Adelaide tour. Somewhat concerningly, “dozens of flights have been cancelled at Heathrow due to freezing fog. British Airways, the largest carrier at the UK’s busiest airport, has axed around 80 flights”.
[…] Monday morning while Liam was packing the car the kids kept screaming from the balcony, “Dad, behind you, watch out, DADDDD, look, not again?”, they thought it was hilarious the B&B cat kept hopping around our bags, Eloise was worried it was going to hitch a ride in the car. They enjoyed playing with the cat once they got down, Eloise decided to name it Frankie. Jamila, they always come running whenever a new Frankie snap comes through. […]
