Day 551: Spending koala-ty time together

January 29, 2023 by liamsophiefensom

Thursday morning, was the controversial Australia Day as “thousands attend Invasion Day rallies on Australia’s national holiday as colonisation debate rages”.

Super Mum, kiddies and the grandparents headed south to Port Elliot for another sunny beachy day with extended family. Disappointingly, the famous Port Elliot Bakery was closed, there would be no ‘doughnut of the month’ today.

It was a nice day for a stroll along Horseshoe Bay which was surprisingly quiet. A lot of water which still making its way through the River Murray from the floods, looked icky, it was sad to see so many dead fish washed up on the shores, “Dead marine life washes onto south coast beaches near mouth of flooding River Murray”.

We made our way around to check out the jetty and see if anyone was catching fish.

Of course, along the way, the kids had to try out the PG, it was so much fun Grandma even got in on the action.

Just as we had got to the jetty, Dad dialled in to check in on us. The kids were very excited about the jetty, Lachlan was very chatty.

In the afternoon, Lachlan had a quick nap before he made a friend.

After a fun family day out it was then back in the car to the hills.

After starting work at 05:00, mainly because I was awake so early, it had been a long day, a long long day, after work, we headed out to Brew Dog, back in the Merchant City, to celebrate Muzza Bizza’s move to Australia as we trade lives.

On Friday, Lachlan lucked out with new shoes, they do not last long as he is constantly on the run. In Grandma Nicholls’ case, it was bring your grandchildren to work day. Eloise and Lachlan were keen to help Grandma prepare for the up and coming school year.

Come on, you got to love the boy’s smile!

There were lots of school toys that needed cleaning, luckily Eloise and Lachlan were more than happy to help out.

Without Liam, constantly revving the kids up to maximum levels they have been sleeping well, touch wood. Tonight was another Grandma book before milk and bed.
