This week started with Lachlan perfecting his build, although he is still not happy that his purple dinosaur won’t fit in his aircraft.

After dropping Eloise off at nursery, Lachlan and Super Mum headed to an outdoor playgroup, Lachlan was having a fantastic time toasting crumpets on a campfire, although he got impatient and started eating them cold. To the surprise of nobody, Lachlan was still hungry, so the next stop was cakes with Juju.

Meanwhile, Eloise was busy making gingerbread men at nursery before storytime.

We can confirm it is not summer yet, it has not even felt like Spring, as an “arctic blast hits UK”. Although it seems that England has copped the majority of the snow, this has not stopped the wild swimmers who have been out in force.

Super Mum has been up against it this week, trying to tire out Lachlan which is becoming harder each day.

We then had to rush off to collect Eloise from nursery, feed her her snacks and drop her off at dance.

Wednesday morning was the first sign of the arctic blast making its way up north. Far too cold for the Brompton this morning.

In the evening the kids set up their science experiment outside before bed. Eloise was so excited to see if her water would freeze overnight she struggled to settle in bed.

Thursday morning the kids bounced out of bed and rushed downstairs to check to see if their water had frozen. Tap, tap, tap, giggle, giggle, giggle. It appeared so, well on the surface at least.

To warm up in the afternoon Eloise put on her new favorite “blue sheep jumper”, packed her babies into her pram and set off. She is pretty good with walking now, hopefully, the double pram can be retired soon. We still had to tire Lachlan out, Super Mum knew just the trick.

Thursday evening, all of a sudden the sky got darker and large snowflakes started falling. The girls were running about, can you tell we are from Australia? Lachlan was not so sure and was a bit frozen.

Thursday night, Super Mum kicked off a new project and was keen to crack out some of her new material.

On Friday when we all woke up, we were hoping for a large blanket of snow, sadly this was not the case, this week’s “arctic blast” has been disappointing. Buzzing at the sight of any snow, the kids were still out making the most of it.

After midday we hit the streets to see if the snow coverage was better throughout the neighborhood. Eloise scored a bargain, picking up a spooky Peppa costume for £1 which made her day. We are not sure if it will still fit her come Halloween.

Disappointed we could not find more snow, we had to settle for football in the park. Lachlan’s dribbling is impressive, drop a ball in front of him and the boy is off.

We got home just in time for a quick rest on the double-decker couch before the Aussies came over for dinner.

Janet and Lachlan were looking the part and were well coordinated.

Both Lachlan and Eloise made a new buddy who did an exceptional job helping Eloise through a tricky Lego Easter build.

It was a bit of a late night for the kiddies, Eloise had had so much fun that as soon as they left, Eloise asked when we would see them again.
