On Monday, Lachlan was relieved to have his usual start to the week routine back with a Juju catch up. There certainly has been plenty to catch up on. Lachlan has recently taken a strong liking to Eloise’s old rain jacket, it is his favourite colour, yellow.

The fantastic news from Melbourne to kick off the week was that “Australia wins 4-0 to progress to the Women’s World Cup round of 16”.
On Tuesday, the Aussie mums were over for a British morning tea, Lachlan was glad to have lots of people to play with.
Meanwhile, at nursery, Eloise was busy painting colourful penguins, she was super excited when we picked her up to show us. It is lovely we are now finally allowed into the centre to collect her, Lachlan loves having a sneaky look about, he cannot wait to start next year.

Lachlan was happy to be reunited with “sista” as they enjoyed playing about in the backyard with all the toys in the sun.

After Eloise’s efforts at nursery, she helped Lachlan have a go at painting too.

All this art must have been hard work, Lachlan was a hungry boy as he made quick work of his dinner and then Super Mum’s.

The great thing about endless daylight is that Lachlan always has plenty of time to run his dinner off before bed.

Wednesday started with cookies, lots and lots of cookies, Eloise and Lachlan did a terrific job, there were plenty of Dad snacks all day.

We have certainly been making the most of Costa’s 50p coffees although we usually have to leave before Lachlan starts dancing on the tables, the babyccinos go straight to his head.

Still on the high from the babyccino, there was no napping Wednesday as Lachlan insisted he had to walk his baby to sleep.

It has been good weather this week as summer tries to cling on.

Thursday morning started with the Bluey Keepy Uppy episode, Lachlan was quick to copy.
We had to get Lachlan out of the house, to the PG.

Eloise is obsessed with face paint at the moment, there has been a lot of practice.

In the evening after Lachlan had tired himself out with Baby Shark, Eloise requested lots of plaits and the process began…

On Thursday, “top cyclists from around the world are in Scotland for a “first-of-its-kind mega event””. Excitingly “The biggest event ever to take place in world cycling has begun in Glasgow. For 10 days, the best of the best will compete in 13 individual world championship events rolled into one major competition for the first time. More than 8,000 cyclists from 120 countries will put their feet to their pedals, including 34 Scottish riders who will compete in elite events in front of a home crowd. Cycling of every shape and size will take place in events as diverse as mountain bike downhill in Fort William and BMX racing at the Glasgow BMX Centre”.
This morning, Eloise and Lachlan were happy chappies as Emma came over for a play. In the spirit of the UCI Cycling World Championships, Emma had brought her new birthday bike and the girls were racing in the backyard. Lachlan was doing his best to keep up.

Eloise then asked Emma if she wanted to do face painting and Emma happily jumped straight into the chair.

Lachlan was not convinced with Eloise’s efforts and is always happy just painting his own face.

Luckily for Eloise, Emma was also keen to unleash her artistic side. There was plenty of giggling going on.

The kids were more than happy in the backyard enjoying the sun and turning chalk into paint before lunch.

When the monthly community magazine was delivered, Eloise was quick to check that she still featured in it.

The Super Mums were then out in force as their babies seriously needed a nap today.

In the evening the #mumclub was off to see the new Barbie movie and have a peaceful dinner.

Meanwhile, at home, King Lachlan was running the show while Eloise was finding ways to entertain herself.

When it was bedtime, Eloise was incredible and sprung into action. Reading Lachlan his bedtime book.

Eloise was in full mum mode, trying every trick in the book to get Lachlan to sleep. Funnily enough, the efforts backfired and Eloise fell asleep first. With a bit more rocking, Lachlan was not far behind.

Lachlan always likes to be patted in his cot, luckily a Kangaroo is usually enough to trick him, the oldest trick in the book.

Today, on the other side of the country “let’s start the show: Edinburgh festival 2023 kicks off”, we’ll have to get back across to the Fringe, the kids both had such a great time last year.
[…] head off. To say she was looking forward to Cassidy’s birthday party was an understatement. After all the plaits on Friday it was finally time to let down her party hair. Before the party, Eloise had to pick up Juju, a […]
