It was a sad start to the week as we had to drop Laura off at the airport. It was so lovely to see her, we all had an absolute ball. She looked like she had enjoyed Edinburgh and Glasgow, the kids will be disappointed they cannot chase her about anymore. Eloise was happy she could help drop Laura off as she had a double day off as the brand new school year gets close.

With Lachlan having his midday nap, the girls were out the back working on their next projects together. Big things coming soon…

Once our wee owl had arisen, it was off to the shops so he could grab his weekly banana bunch. He knows exactly where they are and makes sure we do not walk past them.

Dinner was scoffed down, pasta is always an easy hit with these two. They are most certainly eating more and more by the day, well throwing it all over the table at least. No surprise they seem to have endless energy, Super Mum was not prepared for a post-dinner water fight. Poor Lachlan had selected the cup with holes in the bottom so he stood no chance against Eloise. Lachlan hid behind Super Mum but that was not enough to stop Eloise who was showing no mercy.

The kids made up from their friendly water fight with milk and searching for Nessie.

We have had some incredible weather the past couple of weeks, that all changed Tuesday evening as we got two weeks’ worth of rain in an hour. It was a tricky windy route home on HMAS Brompton.

Luckily for the kids, it was much drier in Bearsden although Lachlan was not taking any chances.

We had friendly company on Tuesday night. After two massive months, it was interesting to share travel stories. Lachlan was impressive with his backyard football skills. He is definitely ready for Football Buzz this weekend!

With the Aussies over, we had to throw burgers on the BBQ.

Wednesday was the big day! After watching the completely bizarre Lionesses compilation to the tune of Tim Minchin’s Matilda it was kick-off time.
Supporters were ready on both sides of the nation with a bravely packed Australia House at the Australian Embassy in London, unfortunately, we could not make it down to wave the flag.
It was a tough start for the Matildas, unfortunately, Manchester United’s Ella Toone did what Ella Toones does before an absolute rocket from Kerr who was carrying the weight of the nation on her shoulders.
Sadly it was “heartbreak for Matildas as England win despite Kerr heroics”. It had been an amazing tournament that we were disappointed to miss, Eloise and Lachlan would have loved to be there, even if Eloise was cheering for the opposition. They could hold their heads up high as “Australia’s best ever result at a FIFA World Cup has undoubtedly changed women’s sport and football in this country forever”, Surely, Matilda herself would have been proud.
We guess it will be a few more days of listening to “it’s coming home”.
Lachlan was not happy with the result so ran away behind the couch to watch Baby Shark.

Wednesday afternoon we all headed across to pick Eloise up from nursery. Lachlan always makes sure he tags along so he can do a cheeky runabout in the centre. All of the nursery teachers know Lachlan by his first name, he cannot wait until his free nursery kicks in next year.

After all of Lachlan’s sprinting about nursery, it was a slow crab walk home. Eloise ensured her wee “baby” was okay when we made it home.

Thursday evening, dinner was a relatively peaceful affair as Lachlan was first out the door and requested the “dino dinner seat”, it’s the small things in life, how had we not thought of this earlier.

Friday morning, Lachlan had cheekily decided that our bed was now his. He was having a jolly good time and had to call Grandpa DAVE to let him know.

The kids had not been at a playground for a couple of weeks so they were thrilled to be back on their ol’ stomping ground.

We then made our way to Bearsden Cross with all our babies in the prams. Lachlan was well and truly overdue for a haircut again.

The barber gave the children lollipops for being so well behaved. Lachlan does not particularly enjoy haircuts.

Eloise then whipped up some delicious scones which Lachlan was eager to taste.

When Dad got home thankfully his little helpers were keen to clean the bike for him, Lachlan loves spinning the pedals around at ferocious speeds.

Back to dinner impossible, mischievous Lachlan is working hard on finding his listening ears.

Eloise was darting around the backyard eating cream with a small side of scones while laughing her head off.

Friday was an exciting morning as Eloise and Lachlan started gymnastics after graduating from Head over Heels, Hoolies. Super Mum had got in early and managed to get the kids into the high in demand sessions. Lachlan was chuffed to be on his way in the morning.

After lunch, the four of us headed to Milngavie Library before Eloise’s class. It has been great that not only did Emma also get into Eloise’s class but there is a whole bunch of her wee friends from nursery too. Lovely that she is getting to know everyone in the local area. Emma was moving on to the big girl books while speaking Spanish.

When we got home Eloise was busy in the kitchen again insisting us she was not tired. This time she was working on perfecting her banana brownie mix.
