At 05:30 this morning Lachlan decided it was time to rock n roll, we tried our best to keep him quiet in our bed for a bit longer but he was ready to kick off the party. Eloise joined us after Lachlan had successfully woken her up, it was so early that she was not sure what day it was. Then all of a sudden “awieaohdsahdasoidh IT’S MY BIRTHDAAAAYYY!!!! TODAY MY BIRTHDAY BIRTHDAY hsadhsadh”. There was zero chance of getting them back to sleep. We quickly bounded down the stairs. Eloise and Lachlan were yelling in excitement to see the balloons and birthday presents.

Before Eloise was allowed to start unwrapping we had to call in the family, sadly there were no Grandparents here to celebrate. We cannot believe it has been a year since Grandma and Grandpa Nicholls were here.

Eloise was very good at sharing, even letting Lachlan help her unwrap.

Eloise was lucky to score a Barbie camper set, a kids’ digital camera and lots of warm clothes. We are somewhat mindful we need to get all of this back to the other side of the world shortly. Eloise was enjoying taking photos of all of us, good blog content. Lachlan really enjoyed the Barbie camper set.

It was then business time, with Super Mum working her magic in the cake department. This year, Barbie cake was an easy decision.

Lachlan was in balloon heaven all morning. As it was approaching party time, Eloise and Lachlan were jumping up and down asking every minute when their friends would arrive.

The party started with Eloise getting spoilt to bits, she now has a double mermaid Barbie, she could hardly contain herself. It was then upstairs for the most intense game of shops that Dad had ever seen. He was not getting in the way of that, it was worse than Braehead Shopping Centre during school holidays.

After the kids were all shopped out it was time for the main event, painting sun catchers, they actually do sell them in Scotland. Against the odds, it had actually turned into a sunny day, it was just meant to be.

Dad stepped up to the hot seat for the stressful pass the parcel music gig, you could cut the tension with a knife. The small prizes were all hair accessories but luckily the boys did not mind.

The party food went down a treat, especially the fairy bread and homemade sushi.

Everyone was excited about the Barbie cake, Eloise absolutely loved it.

It had been a huge success. In the afternoon Dad had to make the most of the ‘good weather’, it is still freezing and dashed up to the reservoir before the roads are covered in ice.

It was well timed, Super Mum got a notification that Aunty Liv’s present had finally arrived and we sent Dad on his way to collect on his way home. For months now Eloise has been asking for a “Anna Little Mermaid outfit” which she describes as the top half Anna and the bottom half Little Mermaid. We have no idea how she has become so fixated on needing this, especially as it is not even a thing! Luckily for her, Aunty Liv got her the next best thing separate Anna and a Little Mermaid costumes, she was not sure which one to wear first and was doing her little happy dance in excitement.

Lachlan did not want to be left out and went full Elsa with his new Elsa heels which he now calls his “wobbly shoes”.

Just as we were starting to pack up the house and the kids were coming down from their sugar high. Juju and Jane dropped by after their amazing holiday. Eloise was thrilled to see them and keep her birthday celebrations rollin’.

It had been a wonderful day, Eloise certainly had enjoyed herself. Thank you all for making her feel so special. It is lovely to see she has made such great friends at nursery, dance and gymnastics. We still cannot believe we have a four year old, we are working hard to try and discover a way to slow down time. It is crazy that Eloise starts school in 275 days! What?!?!?!
For those wanting to follow along with Eloise’s snaps, Jo she got a great one of you. Eloise is keen for her own blog and wanted to share with you all: “Hi everyone, Eloise here, it’s my birthday and I am four. Happy Birthday to me, thank you for all my presents and Lachlan took some pictures too”.
Sadly across the United Kingdom, “residents of some 500 homes in a Nottinghamshire town have been urged to evacuate due to flooding caused by Storm Babet” as devastatingly “some residents whose homes were flooded during Storm Babet will not be home in time for Christmas”.
Happy Birthday Eloise. Looks like you had a great time at the party!
Happy birthday Eloise! Wow! What a day and such a great Barbie cake! Looks like you have had a wonderful day! Iām looking forward to seeing more of your photos!
I can’t believe she’s four already. Belated Happy Birthday Eloise.
How will you ever manage to pack all the Barbies and Duplo to come back to AUS.
We don’t quite believe it either. Thank you, Eloise is certainly missing her Glaswegian Grandparents. That’s a problem for next year.
