It is day four of isolation and we are scraping the barrel for entertainment ideas.
Luckily, after returning a second negative PCR COVID-19 test and a confusing string of text messages and phone calls from NHS Test Protect, our isolation is now ending a day earlier. Hooray! We are now free to return to adventuring this Friday. Let’s hope there is still some Scottish sun left.
Ordering a PCR COVID-19 test online and having it delivered to your door the same day is a very convenient system. The jury is still out on self-administering and having to wander out in public to find an express Royal Mail post box to return the test.

Today the First Minister in Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, announced Scotland would be following in the steps of England and relaxing almost all COVID-19 restrictions, due to the success of the vaccination program. Since landing in the UK from the Adelaide July lockdown, it certainly has not felt restrictive (until this week). A big change is that self-isolation will no longer be required for close contacts who are fully vaccinated, essentially everyone older than us. We are sure the world will be looking at the results.

Eloise has found her new favourite television show; Waffle the Wonder Dog. Starring a dog very similar to Delilah. Eloise is very concerned about why Delilah is now on television causing mayhem “Delilah, Delilah, Delilah”.

Less interested in the balloons and colouring-in books today, the attention turned to fort building, although Grandma insists it is only a “cubby”.

Friends gave us a great Glasgow guidebook when we arrived and Eloise quickly located the best doughnut shop in town.

Meanwhile, Lachlan was more than happy chilling, embracing Lachdown.

Early morning video calls are becoming the norm. It is always good to stay up to date with people in Adelaide. Eloise always seems to make her Grandma motion-sick as she runs away with the phone giggling.

Back in our time zone, we caught up with best friends of the blog. They are as crazy as us, moving halfway across the world during a global pandemic. We are sure they will make regular appearances throughout our stories and cannot wait to catch-up with them.

The emergency can of Scotch Broth is still intact.

Loving your travel blog! You’ve certainly arrived hitting the ground running with all your exploring!! You’ll be able to rejuvenate during lockdown/ lochdown/ Lachdown!! Looks amazing and brings back the many happy memories we have of Edinburgh!
