Day 22: Flat packed out

August 16, 2021 by liamsophiefensom

Sunday morning started with a family trip to fill up another two trolleys at ASDA. This included a set of koala themed glasses and mugs chosen by Eloise.

It was then back to the house to continue IKEA flat packs, with Amazon packages arriving faster than Eloise could keep up with.

“Where does this go?”
“They must go together”
“Keep ’em coming”

Liam hit the road again to pick-up another set of drawers off Facebook Marketplace. He took a wrong turn and then stopped to admire the view. Hopefully our airfreight arrives soon, we need those baby hiking bags STAT.

When a wrong turn becomes a right move

By midday we decided we deserved a treat, so walked to the local Italian restaurant for some pizzas.

With bellies full, we headed back to the apartment for a quieter afternoon, even Eloise was starting to get tired from the flat pack assemblies.

All tuckered out

Eloise was thrilled with her new PAW Patrol ball on the way home, even making sure she washed it in the bath with her at the end of the day.

Bottle and ball

This morning the drive to our house was noticeably slower. The new school year has just started with children returning from summer holidays and crossing guards were out in full force.

After the largest groceries shop ever, a few more IKEA flat packs were put together. They are almost done but starting to go from enjoyable to tedious. Once again, Eloise insisted workmanship was to a high quality.

“See Dad, this is how you are supposed to do it”

Eloise was very excited for her first bed, pillow and blanket, loving her selection of bee sheets and Minnie Mouse quilt cover. She was sad she couldn’t stay the night.

There were three in the bed and the little one said…

Lachlan was still celebrating the move by rolling about.

Rolly polly

It was nice being able to cook lunch in a much bigger kitchen. We even managed to squeeze in a spot of basketball before heading back to IKEA for the fourth carload.

Kobeeeee
“Let’s get this”

It has been such an action packed long weekend I didn’t even get to catch a glimpse of the start of the English Premier League. Since I can remember I have always had to wake up in the middle of the night to watch European soccer. Now the FUTBOL is on all day over the weekend. I am sure you’ll all be glad to hear Liverpool FC got off to a flying start. We cannot wait to see baby Sharpe in the well-loved Liverpool onesie, you’re welcome.

Fans packed stadiums to full capacity after 17 months of restrictions. Hopefully, we’ll sneak into Anfield this season. On the local front, I have already been pressured about the Celtic/ Rangers alliances, staying clear of that argument for now.
